Perhaps the most shocking thing about 9/11 was not the tragic scale of the carnage, but the media blackout on evidence of complicity by top US officials. In The New Pearl Harbor, David Griffin lists forty "smoking guns" any one of which, if it holds up, would be enough to prove official complicity in 9/11. Though Griffin's book was published in March, 2004 and copies were given to members of the 9/11 Commission, not a single one of those smoking guns was refuted, or even honestly addressed, in the9/11 Commission Report. Nor have any of them been the object of serious and sustained inquiry by any major American journalistic outlet.

Can the entire American journalism industry be that corrupt? Many of the world's 1.5 billion Muslims think so. But we don't. We think the many honest journalists out there are just having a hard time wrapping their minds around the enormity of what was done to us on September 11th, 2001.
