Brigadier General Bruce Lawlor is the first commanding general of Joint Task Force Civil Support (JTF-CS) located in Norfolk, Virginia. JTF-CS is a standing joint task force assigned to the U.S. Joint Forces Command. It provides command and control over Department of Defense consequence management forces in support of a civilian Lead Federal Agency following a weapon of mass destruction incident in the United States, its territories or possessions. A native of Bellows Falls, Vermont, General Lawlor graduated from the George Washington University in 1966. He subsequently earned a Juris Doctorate (with Honors) from the George Washington University and a Masters in National Security Affairs from Norwich University. He is a graduate of Harvard's National Security Fellows Program, has taught at the U.S. Army War College, and has served as a consultant to the Defense Science Board. |
