Richard Picciotto, firefighter, was inside the North Tower of the World Trade Center when it collapsed on the morning of September 11. An FDNY battalion commander, he was on a stairwell between the sixth and seventh floors, along with a handful of rescue personnel and one civilian, when the building collapsed around them. Picciotto released in 2002 his book "Last Man Down"
