Hassan Astaneh, a professor of mechanical engineering at Cal Berkeley, was the first engineer, who claimed, that the Twin Tower collapse was forced by melting of steel and testified in March 2002 on Capitol Hill. However only a few months later the original explanation was outdated. Another 2 year -investigation was announced in late 2002.
